Shoal Lake 40 First Nation has dubbed its new access road Freedom Road, which is now set for completion by March 2019.

šxʷʔam̓ət (home) – TWO performances in Edmonton!

 

Sunday, February 11th and Tuesday, February 13th, 2018 – BOTH at 7:00 pm

Boyle Street Community League (101 Boyle St Plaza, Main Gym)

The University of Alberta is hosting Theatre for Living’s (Vancouver, BC) forum theatre production of šxʷʔam̓ət (home). This special, interactive performance offers an opportunity to explore and examine shifts in perceptions and behaviours required for true and meaningful reconciliation with Indigenous peoples in Canada.

Created and performed by a mixed Indigenous and non-Indigenous cast and production team, šxʷʔam̓ət (home) weaves together stories based on real life, and challenges us to make reconciliation real and honourable.” // šx ʔam̓ət (home) will invite audiences to change the patterns of behaviour inside characters who are struggling with these issues – patterns that audience members recognize inside themselves – and rehearse true reconciliation. – http://www.theatreforliving.co m/present_work/sxwPamet/origin al_project.html

The cast began their 20-community tour, and the response has been fantastic!
